3rd Season of The Miamibloco Saideira Social  on Memorial Day Monday 5/29/23

Miamibloco presented its 3rd Season of the Saideira Social on Memorial Day Monday at the Miami Beach Bandshell .
Through its over 40 percussionists, Miamibloco uses Samba instruments to rhythmically explore the dynamic influences and heritage between African, Brazilian, and the Global Afro Diasporic rhythms that give Miami its flavor.

The night featured local acts and internationally acclaimed musicians like Brazilian multi-instrumentalist Munir Hossn, Latin Grammy-nominated duo Rose Max & Ramatis, Jason Mathews from Electric Kif and Dj Le Spam, and special guest percussionist Luan Barbosa. We ended the journey with an unprecedented cross cultural collaboration between the energetic beats of Samba and the mesmerizing sounds of Gnawa music from Morocco with Samir Langus.

The Saideira Social concerts are a culmination of months of rehearsals and percussion community workshops held around South Florida, sponsored in part by The Rhythm Foundation. Most bands performing at the Saideira Social include at least one member of the official Miamibloco Bateria, which accompany the featured musicians throughout the night for a non-stop pulsating journey through the diaspora drums. Miamibloco is a young non-profit-organization, and produces the Saideira Socials as celebration and fundraiser event at the end of each season, to promote community-based Brazilian percussion as the glue that serves to creatively bind the multicultural influences we are lucky to have in Miami.
