BEATS & BELONGING

These free to the public, expert facilitated events are made possible through partnerships with local art institutions, cities, brands, and local organizations that have building true connections among a wide range of community members, as their goal. The sense of belonging to our city is what moves all of us to make it a great, and welcoming place for everyone.

Miamibloco kicked off the Fall Season 2023 with "Beats & Belonging" at the Hollywood ArtsPark on September 16th & 17th. This free public event, supported by the Broward County Cultural Division, featured a percussion community workshop on day 1, and a public Bateria Saideira rehearsal + Samba dance class. Participants of all ages and skill levels learned the basics of Afro Brazilian percussion and dance, experiencing the joy of making music together in a beautiful public space.

The event showcased Miamibloco's mission of community building through music, with performances by Bateria Saideira and engaging dance workshops. The lineup included 40 live drums, emphasizing the vibrancy and inclusivity of Miami's samba culture. Join future Miamibloco events to be part of this dynamic musical community!
