Miamibloco Kids: The Heartbeat of Miami’s Next Generation
MiamiblocoKids is more than a music class; it’s where Miami’s youth discover the joy and power of Afro-Brazilian samba, stepping into a living tradition that spans continents and generations.
Since 2017, we’ve brought vibrant rhythms, dance, and creativity to over 600 children yearly across five summer camp sites, and Miami BookFair, giving every child a lifelong place in Miami’s evolving cultural story.
MiamiblocoKids mentor Alejandro Elizondo and the kids of Pine Villa ADT summer camp put a twist of Mozart.
Why It Matters
Every year, the spark in a child’s eyes when they watch their mentors perform, or when shy voices find courage with their drums, buckets, and around the piano, reminds us: MiamiblocoKids is planting seeds for the future of samba in Miami.
Our students discover cultural connections and pride, knowing they’ll always have a creative home—no matter where life takes them.
O futuro da samba está garantido—the future of samba in Miami is truly in good hands.
