Every summer, Miamibloco celebrates the vibrant connection between Miami and Rio de Janeiro by traveling to Brazil to study with living masters of Afro-Brazilian rhythms and arts. From Samba Enredo and Roda de Samba to Choro, Funk Carioca, Bahian percussion, Forró, and Brazilian jazz, we immerse ourselves in researching and living a diverse array of musical traditions that inspire our community work in Miami.

These experiences are more than just educational; they are vital cultural exchanges that deepen the bonds between Miami and Brazil. They serve as crucial touchpoints for cross-cultural contact, blending the rhythms of both countries, from Miami Bass to the world-renowned Funk Carioca.
